We are pregnant!

Eddie and I have wanted kids for quite some time now.  I was diagnosed with poly cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) early on in our efforts to start a family.  It was suggested at that time that we try clomid which allows ovulation to occur.  It is a medication that the doctors say you cannot take for more than six times in a lifetime because of the damage it can have on a woman's organs.  After talking with a few friends who have used the medication, I decided to give it a try.  Coincidentally, everyone I talked to about Clomid said they did not find it to work until the third month end.  Eddie and I were fully prepared to have a long battle with our quest to become parents.  We started our first round of medication on June 1st.  On July 16th I had a cycle and was disappointed since that clearly meant that we were not successful on month one of Clomid.  We were in Georgia at the time visiting friends and family and were not able to get our Clomid prescription until we returned on the 19th.  I started round two of Clomid that Monday night and hoped for the best.  I took an ovulation test every morning for twenty days and never got the smiley face indicating that ovulation was occurring and baby making time was near.  We were both bummed!  When I did not get my cycle as anticipated, I took a pregnancy test which came back negative (that was on Monday, August 16th.  On the morning of Thursday the 19th I decided to take another pregnancy test just in case.  The entire three minutes that I was awaiting the results I was telling myself that it was just a waste of money for me to use this test, there was no way that we would be pregnant so soon.  To my surprise three digital pregnancy tests came back "pregnant".  We are thrilled to be bringing our first child into this world.

Our first doctor's appointment is September 7th where we will have our first ultrasound and listen to the heart beat.
